Foundations for Africa – Burkina Faso

Ensuring the right to food for 60,000 people in Burkina Faso and developing a new Global North-South cooperation culture.

These are the goals pursued by Foundations for Africa - Burkina Faso, an initiative involving a partnership among numerous Italian banking foundations, namely Fondazione Cariplo as lead organization, Compagnia di San Paolo, Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca, Fondazione Banco di Sardegna, Fondazione Cariparma, the foundations of the savings banks of Alessandria, Asti, Biella, Bolzano, Bra, Calabria & Lucania, Carrara, Civitavecchia, Cuneo, Fossano, Lucca, Modena, Orvieto, Perugia, Salerno Area, Savigliano, Spezia, Padova & Rovigo, Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna, Monte Parma, Fondazione Varrone, Istituto Banco di Napoli Fondazioneall members of ACRI, the Association of Italian banking foundations and savings banks. .

Foundations for Africa - Burkina is a collaborative effort involving, in both its design and operation, the aforesaid foundations, 6 organizations engaged in active work locally in Italy and in Africa (ACRA-CCS, CISV, LVIA, MANI TESE, Fondazione Slow Food per la Biodiversità and CeSPI), 27 associations of Burkinian migrants in Italy, the federation of association of Burkinians in Italy (Fabi), and numerous local partners.  This collaborative effort seeks to attain the goals of the initiative via a common roadmap and shared endeavors that engage all players - regional administrations, public and private entities, international organizations – involved in the promotion of sustainable development through the cooperation between Italy and Burkina Faso.
