Multi-Year Framework Plan
The Multi-Year Framework Plan (DPPP) 2024-2027 is the main strategic document of the Central Charity Commission, and is also drawn up based on the proposals made by the Advisory Committees.
This document defines the mission, vision and objectives the Commission wishes the Foundation to pursue, taking into account the social and economic context in which it operates.
In recent years, we have constantly considered how best to continue to play our role, given the complexity of the changes underway. On 28 April 2023, the Foundation’s Governance Bodies were renewed, beginning a new mandate that, in continuity with the past, aims above all to strengthen the community.
In a complex context, we deem it essential to support local communities, thought of as networks of people with their own characteristics and identities. The strength and responsiveness of communities are seen as key elements in addressing current challenges.
Lines of mandate
Taking this vision as a starting point, four main guidelines have been identified to strengthen the community:
- Creating shared value
- Reducing inequalities
- Expanding boundaries
- Creating enabling conditions
Annual Policy Planning Document
The Annual Policy Planning Document (DPPA) establishes the economic resources for the various lines of mandate and indicates the division between actions and instruments. The detailed definition of these instruments takes place over the year, with grants from the Advisory Committees.
The DPPA is not a mere budget, but a strategic document that guides the Foundation’s activities according to statutory and philanthropic objectives, allocating the necessary resources and tasking the Board of Directors with their use.
In 2024, to improve the strategic planning of the four Lines of Mandate, expert hearings and analysis of emerging issues were organised. The Foundation has therefore decided to allocate additional resources to these themes, developed over the year by the Sub-committees and the Central Charity Commission, with the support of funders on common objectives of social interest
Reports and end-of-mandate documents
In a context in which philanthropic organisations play a crucial role in promoting social, cultural and environmental well-being, transparency in the management of resources is an essential principle. For Fondazione Cariplo, making its financial statements public is not just a formal obligation, but an act of responsibility towards the community and stakeholders.
Our reports
Fondazione Cariplo regularly publishes a summary of its activities, through tools such as the Financial Statements and the Mission Report.
These documents not only illustrate economic and financial performance but also set out the concrete impact of the projects supported, offering a comprehensive view of our philanthropic action.
Consulting our financial statements means entering into the heart of the mission: “Tute servare, munifice donare” – Preserve diligently, give generously. This reporting measures the consistency between values, actions and results, and strengthens the bond of trust with local areas.
