Early years of life as the foundation of future well-being
Over 520,000 children aged six and under live in the Fondazione Cariplo catchment area, of which more than 72,000 are in absolute poverty and over 31,000 in food poverty.Only three in ten children have the opportunity to attend a kindergarten and to access cultural spaces and opportunities. The early years of life are decisive for the development of basic skills, emotional security and interpersonal skills in children. The deepest inequalities, in relation to family, educational and social conditions, manifest themselves at this time of life, often at an early stage.
Supporting families and bolstering proximity networks
The challenge aims to support the well-being of boys and girls aged six and under, especially those living in poverty and with social and economic vulnerabilities, with the aim of fostering the development of pathways of growth for individuals and for the community.Hence our aim to support families, bolster early childhood services and enhance living circumstances, to prevent vulnerabilities and create the basis for a positive and lasting pathway of development.
