{"id":12685,"date":"2025-12-15T14:53:01","date_gmt":"2025-12-15T13:53:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fondazionecariplo.it\/?post_type=progetto&#038;p=12685"},"modified":"2026-04-23T09:40:45","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T07:40:45","slug":"housing-sociale","status":"publish","type":"progetto","link":"https:\/\/www.fondazionecariplo.it\/en\/progetto\/housing-sociale\/","title":{"rendered":"Housing Sociale"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Housing Sociale<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 1999, Fondazione Cariplo has tackled the <strong>issue of social housing<\/strong> with determination, launching several calls for proposals aimed at increasing the offering, through non-profit providers, of housing and support services for <strong>people with a wide range of vulnerabilities<\/strong>. Since 2011, these have merged into a single call for proposals, \u201c<strong>Social housing for the vulnerable<\/strong>\u201d, which stimulates local areas to increase their ability to respond to certain housing needs (relating to socio-economic circumstances, disability and ageing). The aim is to <strong>enhance the offering<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>strengthen people&#8217;s independence<\/strong>, by maximising the affordability of housing solutions. To date (December 2025), the Foundation has supported <strong>424 projects by approving grants of over \u20ac80 million<\/strong>, providing approximately 7,000 beds for vulnerable people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus, since 2004, Fondazione Cariplo has decided to systematically address the issue of <strong>private social housing<\/strong>; it has done so with the participation and support of the&nbsp;<strong>Lombardy Region<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>ANCI Lombardy<\/strong> by establishing a purpose-based foundation. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fhs.it\/\"><strong>Social Housing Foundation<\/strong><\/a> currently actively promotes the social housing model in Italy, as&nbsp;an <strong>advisor to funds <\/strong>that invest in the sector; it provides assistance in the design of interventions, offering advice in urban and architectural planning, in the design of services and housing welfare and in community development.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SHF&#8217;s commitment led in 2006 to the creation of the&nbsp;<strong>first Italian fund focusing on social housing<\/strong> \u2013 the <strong>Fondo Abitare Sociale 1<\/strong> \u2013 which served as the basis for the&nbsp;subsequent establishment of the <strong>Fondo Nazionale Investimenti per l\u2019Abitare<\/strong>, managed by the Integrated System of Social Housing Funds&nbsp;(SIF), which carries out social housing projects throughout Italy. The SIF is now one of the largest impact investment programmes worldwide.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The experience of social housing has experienced its greatest level of development in the Lombardy Region. In 2019, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/redosgr.it\/\">REDO Sgr S.p.A.<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/redosgr.it\/\">\u2013 Benefit Company<\/a><\/strong> took over management of the Fondo Abitare Sociale 1 (now known as the Fondo Immobiliare di Lombardia \u2013 FIL).
