To encourage young people to take green jobs, Fondazione Cariplo has worked closely with <strong>local stakeholders and experts in the sector<\/strong>, through meetings and working groups.\u202fThe various bodies involved include: Lombardy Region Schools Department; Assolombarda Confindustria Milan, Monza and Brianza, Lodi; Chamber of Commerce of Milan, Monza Brianza, Lodi; Confcommercio Milan, Lodi, Monza and Brianza; Citt\u00e0 dei Mestieri, Milan and Lombardy; Green Jobs Desk; ACTL Internship Desk; Altreconomia; Climate-KIC.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of the project, active from 2015 to 2023, was\u202fto\u202f<strong>raise young people&#8217;s awareness of the opportunities, skills and profiles required\u202fby green jobs and to develop the cross-sectoral skills increasingly required by the green economy<\/strong>.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specifically, over the course of the eight editions, Green Jobs has consolidated and proposed two pathways to\u202f<strong>Year 12 students<\/strong> in the Foundation&#8217;s catchment area.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The\u202f<strong>orientation course in green jobs<\/strong> (2015-2023),\u202faimed at increasing students&#8217; knowledge and awareness of\u202fthe educational\u202fand\u202fprofessional\u202fopportunities\u202foffered by the\u202fgreen\u202feconomy, to guide young people towards\u202fmore conscientious and sustainable choices.\u202fConducted in conjunction with Green Jobs Hub, it included meetings to present green jobs, testimonies from green economy professionals and individual interviews with expert guidance counsellors and occupational psychologists.\u202f\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>green self-employment pathway<\/strong> (2015-2021), aimed at promoting the\u202fdevelopment of cross-sectoral skills related\u202fto the issues\u202fof entrepreneurship and environmental sustainability\u202fincreasingly required by the green economy. Conducted in conjunction with Junior Achievement Italia and InVento Innovation Lab, it has integrated environmental and entrepreneurial issues to create a green mini-enterprise in the scholastic environment. The students went through all the stages, from identification of the environmental issue and conception to drawing up a business plan and the development of a green product or service.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>From 2018 to 2021, the training course in green self-employment was extended to other Italian regions, made possible by the participation of various banking foundations belonging to the<strong>ACRI Sustainable Development Commission<\/strong>, including: Fondazione CRT, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, Fondazione Carispezia, Fondazione Caritro, Fondazione Cariparo, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Perugia, Fondazione Tercas and Fondazione Carisal.\u202f \u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From 2015 to date in Lombardy:\u202f\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>890 classes taking part<\/strong><strong>\u202f\u202f\u202f\u202f<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>17,200 students\u00a0involved<\/strong><strong>\u202f\u202f\u202f<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>> 6,000 individual orientation interviews<\/strong><strong>\u202f\u202f\u202f\u202f<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>over 200 testimonials from business experts<\/strong><strong>\u202f\u202f\u202f<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of the project, a <strong>handbook<\/strong>&nbsp;was drawn up to describe the training protocols and their evolution over time, as well as an analysis of the international literature and of the project\u2019s impact in terms of green academic choices made by the students participating in the course. <strong>Guidelines for teachers and trainers&nbsp;<\/strong>were extracted from the handbook as a tool to promote educational activities related to sustainability in schools.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"lanci-interni-block\">\n    <div class=\"lanci-interni-container lanci-count-1\">\n                    <div class=\"lancio-item\" style=\"background-color: #EDF5FF;\">\n                <div class=\"lancio-content\">\n                                            <span class=\"lancio-small-label\">Quaderno<\/span>\n                                        \n                                            <p class=\"lancio-title\">Consulta il Quaderno 50: PROGETTO \u201cGREEN JOBS\u201d | Protocolli e risultati a confronto<\/p>\n                                        \n                                            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondazionecariplo.it\/ricerca\/progetto-green-jobs-protocolli-e-risultati-a-confronto-quaderno-n-50\/\" class=\"btn__blue align-self-start\">\n                            <span>Consulta<\/span>\n                        <\/a>\n                                    <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scuola 21&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Issue<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To face the complexity of the present day, there is a need for schools that can <strong>develop both knowledge and skills in students<\/strong>. These skills assist students in grasping global issues systemically, in building relationships of connection between apparently distant phenomena, in contextualising personal experience in a broader and shared scenario, and in strengthening critical faculties and the sense of belonging to their local area. Such skills are essential to avoid a superficial approach to the issue of environmental sustainability. However, the Italian education system lacks teaching proposals that stimulate the development of these skills.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the SCUOLA 21 project, Fondazione Cariplo has contributed to the <strong>improvement in the educational offering at secondary schools and vocational training centres<\/strong>. It proposed the dissemination of an interdisciplinary curricular didactic and training methodology, oriented towards the development of key citizenship skills.
