Such complex journeys in life and vulnerabilities require integrated responses
Many vulnerabilities are the result of the intertwining of social, economic and family conditions that manifest themselves throughout the course of life. People involved in the criminal justice system often experience situations of marginalisation, low levels of education and interpersonal difficulties, which tend to worsen over time. To face these challenges, we believe in the necessity of an approach that integrates different skills, encourages collaboration between social and institutional stakeholders and focuses on the person, their journey and potential.
Communities that include networks, opportunities and participation
This challenge aims to modulate interventions according to specific requirements of local areas and target audiences, by promoting a participatory approach to design, oriented towards developing shared and sustainable solutions over time. Via activation of local and regional networks that can integrate and enhance existing best practices, interventions take place both inside penal institutions and out. These include professional training, job placements, criminal mediation, prevention of recidivism, psychological and educational support, assistance with reintegration into society and the right to labile affect.
