In-depth analysis
How we analyse themes, problems and needs to develop effective philanthropic tools
The in-depth analysis of themes and issues ahead of the Foundation’s design of philanthropic instruments, consisting of study and research actions aimed at:
- overall analysis of the problems dealt with by the Foundation and the observation of new critical issues, to identify priorities and opportunities for intervention;
- specific in-depth analysis of certain issues, to contribute to the definition and feasibility analysis of some of the Foundation’s interventions.
These objectives are pursued mainly through:
- comparative analysis of the evolution of critical issues and emerging problems in the thematic and local areas where the Foundation takes action, taking as a starting point the official statistical data available locally (SDG, ODS, BES) and by organising strategic stakeholder listening activities, especially by consulting the Strategic Listening Panel made possible by the “1,000 Voices for Understanding” project, which includes a sample of around 1,200 non-profit organisations active in the local areas where the Foundation operates;
- exploratory studies of a general nature, specific insights and feasibility studies on individual interventions;
- remote consultation of audiences of experts and operators in the sector, aiming to identify possible causes and solutions to a social problem by triggering consensus convergence mechanisms, using the Delphi method.
