Our environmental strategy is measured against the major climate challenges of our time.
The Environment Area was created with the aim of protecting natural resources and promoting education for sustainability, through co-ordinated actions and local alliances involving citizens, institutions, businesses, associations, the scientific world and schools.
The challenges it faces include the promotion of green jobs and a new culture of energy saving and use of renewable energy, as tools to counter the effects of climate change.
We leverage
natural capital
and promote the
development of sustainable and inclusive economies.
We support initiatives to protect and enhance natural ecosystems, by promoting the conservation of biodiversity, the
sustainable management of resources
and taking care of landscapes. We provide skills and tools to improve the quality of the environment, promoting the transition to
sustainable local models. We support the
ecological transition by supporting innovation, research and collaboration between public, private and third-sector stakeholders. We believe that sustainable development requires a systemic approach
, with pooling of a range of skills and visions.

Environment Area commitment to
implementation of Lines of Mandate.
The action of the Environment Area contributes to the strengthening of communities by promoting innovation, participation and conscious management of natural resources. We support pathways that integrate scientific knowledge,
cultural practices, civic involvement and the use of data, so local areas and communities can face environmental challenges with appropriate tools and a long-term vision.
