Though still pursuing  its philanthropic mission to finance non profit organizations, Fondazione Cariplo engaged in something that goes beyond traditional grant-making. In fact, in addition to contributing to socially useful initiatives that  other organizations carry out thanks to the Foundation’s grants, some time ago the Foundation resolved to promote, design and implement its own projects in partnership with other entities and to  be the catalyst for financial resources.

Projects originated by the Foundation itself are managed directly by its staff. Because of their significance, originality or specificity, these projects are given special importance among the various activities carried out by the Foundation.

From a ‘passive’ grant-making entity Fondazione Cariplo has become an active player pioneering new initiatives to fill existing gaps, gearing its activity to achieving its project’s objectives of social and economic  development in the region.
