Technology Transfer Fund
TTVenture is an Italian closed-end fund promoted by Fondazione Cariplo and the Association of Italian Savings Banks and Banking Foundations (ACRI) to provide financial backing to high-tech projects developed under joint ventures formed between Universities and businesses especially in the biomedical, materials science, agri-food, energy and environmental fields.
Established in 2007, TTVenture has already raised some €65 million from Fondazione Cariplo, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Forlì, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Modena, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Parma, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio della Provincia di Teramo, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio dell’Aquila, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ascoli Piceno, State Street Global Advisors and the Milan Chamber of Commerce.
Minimum investment in the fund is €1,000,000 for individuals and €5,000,000 for other qualified investors. The investment period is 8 years from subscription closing. The overall term of the fund is 15 years. Amounts due to investors are paid to them immediately upon sale of any of their fund holdings.
The fund depository bank is Intesa Sanpaolo. TTVenture is managed by Fondamenta Sgr, an Italian specialist private equity fund management firm. The fund operational management relies on the advice of the Fund Investment Committee while strategic guidance is provided by the Fund Scientific Committee. Both Committees are composed of first-class Italian and international experts.
TTVenture invests across the technology transfer spectrum, from seed and venture capital to private equity investing and international specialist funds focused on developing partnerships in Italy.
