EXPO 2015, Cascina Triulza Auditorium dedicated to Pier Mario Vello

As a way to commemorate and pay tribute to Pier Mario Vello, the man who served as Fondazione Cariplo’s Secretary General for more than eight years, the Auditorium of Cascina Triulza has been dedicated to him. The brief ceremony during which the dedication plaque is going to be unveiled will be held at Cascina Triulza on May 7, 2015. Cascina Triulza is the complex hosting the Pavilion of Civil Society Organizations during Milan Expo 2015 and its auditorium will host meetings and debates not only during the six months of the Universal Exposition but also after its end.

The adventure of the Civil Society Organizations’ Pavilion at Milan Expo 2015 could start only by tapping into people’s enthusiasm, vision and skills needed to mobilize the significant resources the effort required. Those were all key traits of Pier Mario Vello. The joyous passion with which he marched towards the future is what has driven us to take up the challenge and pull it off. When we started two years ago, Cascina Triulza was a feat that seemed impossible. Today, it has become real, and we are going to get the most out of it” said Sergio SilvottiPresident of Fondazione Triulza.

We are thankful to Pier Mario for building strong international relationships  which allowed Fondazione Cariplo, as well as the nonprofits and other organizations that work with it, to team up and work side by side with leading philanthropic organizations on a large number of projects in various areas. Those organizations will be present in Milan with hundreds of delegates from all over the world during EXPO 2015Pier Mario Vello was a man who managed to bridge the gap between ideals and reality. His simplicity combined with his pragmatism and competence is part of his legacy to Fondazione Cariplo and to all the people around the world who knew him. He was a manager and a poet – two worlds that seem distant one from the other – and yet in him were united in his day to day work and vision of the future, a legacy we’d like Cascina Triulza to build on as it becomes a breeding ground for ideas” - added Giuseppe GuzzettiFondazione Cariplo’s President.
